How to attract people to my server?

I don't host it much anymore, but I'm trying to start it back up again. I sometimes host a hunger games server, but nobody seems to join. It isn't up at times for a general discussion server topic. How could I attract people to my server?

there's like no way to attract people to your server anymore because all of the players are on the most popular servers.

If you host it I'll join. The more players there are to begin with usually has an outlook on final players.

It's usually much easier to get players in your servers during the morning hours when the bigger servers aren't taking up the 1st page of the server list.
