I loved terrain alot. Playing on slopes was the most joy-filled experience I have ever had playing Blockland. |

I don't understand why everyone gets so mad when they hear that somebody used slopes for a TDM, or somebody loaded the bedroom to host a hide and seek match. There's nothing wrong with setting up quick fun that others enjoy. If you want to build something big, go ahead. There's nothing wrong with loading something just as big and having just as much fun, minus the work hours put into it.um, have you ever played any aerial combat games?? i don't think games played in the sky need a whole bunch of attention towards ground-map layout. Terrain provided a non-flat view as well as natural cover with mountains and such. It also was efficient considering you would have to ghost all of that if it were bricks. I guarantee that using the slopes as scenery for an aerial combat server would run much faster than remaking it in the same level of detail out of bricks. It was an excuse to fill the blank space with nothing. That nothing provided a backdrop that used minimal resources. If a server is named "dogfight", the game should be focused on combat in the sky. It would be perfectly fine to place less than 100 bricks if you have terrain to provide the rest of the ground, and planes and weaponry to provide the fun. You don't have to ghost a whole bunch, and it runs well on all machines. That's called optimization :cookieMonster: --- End quote --- except that they always sucked as aerial combat games because you couldn't actually hit anything unless it was another player on the ground. It's like if you turned Quake rocket deathmatch into a flight sim. And the whole design thing isn't even about building. If you put two seconds of effort into designing a terrain map it might turn out decent. But you just repurpose a map designed to slide down into a gigantic deathmatch map. --- Quote from: heedicalking on October 04, 2013, 05:12:35 PM ---stuff tier argument. blockland didn't look good, should we have removed bricks? no, instead we got the shaders update to improve on things that didn't look good. graphics can be improved. stop posting this stuff-tier excuse. I've gotten better at building when interiors were included in the game. It's bad that they were removed because it makes me build worse. Seriously though, it's stupid because slate existed before and after v21. The only thing holding you back from being a "good builder" was yourself.-___- --- End quote --- "stuff tier" Well, it's good you point yourself out as 4chan trash. Also what the forget are you even trying to say here? Your skill at building has nothing to do with the surrounding environment really. And what are you even saying about slate? Are you actually thinking it works the same way as it did in previous versions? |

I was always good at building. Huehuehue I'm lying lol I sucked before when I used to build in terrain maps. I got better as I made my own terrain and builds on slate even before v21 tho. Warning - while you were reading a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post. Fack u 2 |

I've not really built much since maps were removed, I can't build landscape and building without landscape around things doesn't do much for me. Plus I liked building in places like under the bed or under the windows ledge. |
