I'm making a server, would like some input before I start working on it.

.
It started as an idea, it was a matter of time before I acted on it (I even said I was likely going to make it)

Personally I wouldn't bother finding a squad boundary thing; since, if you abandoned them you would probably get killed off anyways, and auto-killing for being out of range of a squad; sounds like you're blocking players from using certain tactics.

How big would each map have to be to get picked?

Thanks for the kind words Deadzone, you seem like a really cool guy(and thank you so much for contributing, too!)

1. The point of this being different from a run-around TDM is when you need to be team dependent. If you have an anti vehicle weapon only, what happens when a bunch of soldiers ambush you? You want someone with an assault rifle, maybe an LMG to take on massive hordes of enemies, and that guy needs protection from vehicles who could kill off the rifle men and LMGer with a single shot, so he needs an anti-vehicle soldier, and so on. This helpless dependency that is formed from randomized class and weapons comes to form the squad.

The boundary will keep players from running away from their squad, which server-goers will probably do. It will also keep this potentially good idea from turning into a run-around-a-small-battlefield-and-shoot-people game, and keep it as a "capture points, bulk up your squad, work up together for the larger objective" game.

2. Thank you so much for offering your services! I gratefully accept it.

Not maps that are too big, just a lot of places to go. And spacious for squads and such.

My suggestion is a war-torn city, a little bigger than the afghan map and a little more spacious. But go ahead and do whatever kind of map you want, it will most likely be great either way.

And remember, you still have HamHost hosting.

Of course, you have very reliable hosting and service. It would be an insult to not to use Hamhost.

Also, I haven't forgotten, I've been planning a new server since the other one didn't work out.

Also, how could I make it so if you are near a capture point, it starts capping(unless you move - it restarts)?

I would enjoy the help of eventers, too.

As long as it isn't too small; like you could venture off maybe at least 2 64x64 plates before you get a warning.

I was actually thinking a war torn city; either a future metropolis, or a blackened; temple-ruin scattered field. I've got some ideas forming right now actually.

I'm fine with your opinions, but this is just offensive.
