I don't want to combine them. They all have different quirks that make each of them unique that would be lost if they were combined. For example, the swamp is supposed to be melee-only, as having lots of bows would nullify the challenge of the map and make it a royal pain in the ass. Other maps have low resources, diversity in weapons, or even 1 weapon as I plan for one map (it'll make more sense in context).

Also, Zalot, I've yet to play on your new server, but I am certain the 2 games have different qualities to them in gameplay. I do not want hunger or hydrataion in my game, as I need people to focus on deathmatch, and it would do little to affect the game, as it is quite small.

I just realized that if my math is correct, the maps are small. 320x320 is not that large on paper, but I'm being honest when I say that they feel larger.

Now that I see some interest for server improvement, I'm going to make a separate OP over the weekends so I can look for contributors. I'm keeping my brick-heavy zonescaping because it truthfully adds size and depth to the map. It's harder to run across a map with bumps everywhere, no?

Zalot:
Honestly (and this is just my opinion) I think that a Hunger Games server needs to be slow and stealthy. If it is just a randomized DM then I really don't see the point. You could always try making an arena gamemode or something else original.

Modular terrain is the best option. It's quick and easy to get the hang of, and while it definitely isn't as pretty as normal brick terrain, it will really show well with the size and brick efficiency

You're free to disagree, but I've found that smaller maps require players to be stealthy. I've been brutally murdered on several occasions by a player who snuck up on me in broad daylight. I don't recall where they shot me from, and who it was. Also, the DM is not randomized. The maps are, but that's to reflect the way maps worked in the book.

Anyway, I am content with the map sizes and feel the pace of the game is good enough for me. I like that secret caves and tunnels can be effortlessly added to zonescape, but if I do learn how to use GSF, I will consider it for other projects.
