the point of the steam-boxes, whoever all will make them, is that they should be affordable versions of gaming computers.

if its more then 400 bucks, its already almost easier to get a real pc lol
yeah i can imagine these being much cheaper than gaming computers

Yea, that's what I was thinking. Although it'd be pretty much like buying a prebuilt at that point, which are still widely popular because not everyone can/wants to build a PC so they still have their place.

i can imagine some custom hardware being made JUST for steamOS.
like can run games fantastically, but are not really made to run windows or anything else but games lol

well if you want to type reports you can use google docs or openoffice which all save natively to .docx considering microsoft office is basically the standard anyway.  and use your keyboard/mouse still.

Shouldn't be a problem since I can retire this computer to work related things in a few years.
