i hardly think america is obsessed with slavery, i mean its way behind us. regardless, they obviously try to make these games historically accurate to an extent, and slavery was part of that history

slavery was illegal in pretty much every other country during its time, though

that and slavery wasn't as prevalent as it was until the south was formed

that and ac3 takes place in the north
