My dog almost got run over.

So yeah, I was just standing outside with my dog, and all of a sudden he starts running off. Thinking he was chasing after one of our cats, I start running after him. He goes through one of our bushes near the street, and two cars go by. Not until 5 seconds later I find out he's not.

Any other near-pet-death experiences?

Once, my pet snake (Alex) died because of an injured neck...

...which is a pretty big deal for a snake. :(
