Author Topic: Built-in Joystick Support  (Read 1654 times)

Because of the upcoming Steam Machines, we should have joystick support.

we do, but it'd be nice if there were some things to polish it up and make it nice

Someone should package up that PS3 controller script properly.

If you are referring to the script I made awhile back, I've been meaning to make a GUI with proper binding support but I haven't had the time/motivation to do it.
Though I might try to do it tomorrow or tonight if I get time.

Would it be easy to edit that to make it xbox360 controller compatible as well? Because it's the only one I have with a USB plug.

it wouldn't be any different

most likely, ps3 controllers are more work for the user. (going through DS3 tool or something to emulate xbox controller)

Well I used a third party controller, a wireless afterglow controller.

The GUI will allow you to bind the controller, so you just have to click the button in the list and select what it does, though I need to finish it when I get the chance.

Yeah, that one. Instead of making a whole new GUI, just make it so that you can use it with the Options menu. It should be just like changing the controls for mouse/keyboard.

Alright, next time I'm on the computer I still see if it's possible.
Would make it a whole lot easier except I still will need to make the support for the brown townog sticks.

I'm not really sure how useful this would be. Blockland isn't very compatible with controllers. Building is completely out of the question and the general control scheme is made for a mouse and keyboard.
Also brown townog sticks are really inaccurate for aiming

I think it's possible to make those work with it as well.

i want razer hydra support :(

Doesn't mean you cant try. Also people might have said this with Minecraft, and Terraria too! But they are on consoles.

now that i think of it
in blockland, you know how the blockhead moves his hand to move a brick?
it'd be pretty cool for controls like that with razer hydra

semi-on topic because it's a controller with joysticks

that looks like the most uncomfortable thing in existence. How tiny do they expect your hands to be?
