im sorry but why ever the forget would you ever ever ever need to spend more than 200$ on a headset
what are you planning using these for because if it's just general computer use, none of these are very wise choices

Good quality music.

Good quality music.
what are you playing from, exactly?
if you were composing music or you were a DJ or something it'd make a lot of sense, but if you plan on just plugging some triple-digit dollar set of headphones into an ipod for a stroll down the street then from my standpoint you could be spending $80-$100 on something just as good.

it sounds like your decision on these three are pretty concrete though; i'm not saying any of these choices are bad, just that you could look into something with potentially as much bang for less buck.

Nig how much are these

yeah that's probably a good thing to put in the poll

It's the latter.
But the way I see it is if I'm going to spend a large amount of money on something, spending a bit extra for the best quality is worth it to me.

And I'm not a "dj" but me and my friend/roommate spend a lot of time on fl studio making rap beats and whatnot.

Dont spend that much on a damn headset
You might wanna consider these

I have a pair and its amazing for the price
It also has a detachable cord so you wont forget up the wires as easily

Out of those 3 would probably suggest the 598s + a portable headphone amplifier/digital-to-brown townog converter (DAC), if you don't already have one.
It does look like those need an amp to properly drive them, though. I mean, you could just plug them in to your ipod or whatever, but you wouldn't be getting what you payed for without using an amp.

I could probably suggest more headphones if you gave a budget and like if you want portability or if you'll pretty much just be at home at your computer with them most of the time.
Here's a big (slightly outdated) list and comparison of a bunch of portable headphones if you're interested http://www.head-fi.org/t/433318/shootout-108-portable-headphones-reviewed-denon-dn-hp1000-added-09-07-13

I'd like to keep the budget to a $500 maximum but honestly it doesn't really matter to me.
Portability is always nice, but I rarely take my headphones outside of my room anyways so it's not that important either.
As far as amplifiers go, it's not really something I'm looking to buy at the moment, but If you could recommend some good models/companies, it would help out in the future.
But if you know of a significantly better pair of headphones out there that isn't too much more expensive than the three I have listed, I'd be interested in hearing.
Note that a solid bass is one of the most important things I'm looking for.

Whyyyy do they have to use leather everywhere

Does anybody have a suggestion for a $50-100 headset?

For gaming? Plantronics GameCom 780

recently ran into the SteelSeries 5hv3 ($80) that someone else did a review on.
seems fair enough on sound, though i think it focuses more on transport-ability.
oh right it was this video

oooo
can you drag that around with worrying about it snapping? it looks pretty well built but the two identical parts where the headband splits into two small bars that then connect to the ear looks a little iffy
