Author Topic: Ever had a booster shot?  (Read 2197 times)

i had to get novacain injected into me, to be honest that was worse than the needles

Had one in my arm before. It was sore and I got a little fever, but it's not that bad.

I've had a massive injection into my knee to clear our arthritic fluid.

I have to do a blood test (3-4 viles) every month.

I have to get a 10mg shot of Methotrexate... every friday.

Get on my level.
Do you have Rheumatoid Arthritis?
My mother does and she's also on a weekly self-administered Methotrexate injection. She used to be on tablet form methotrexate but it wasn't effective enough. Are you on any other DMARDS?

no because i'm healthy
boosters are what keep you healthy... it's part of vaccinations

Why did I even enter this topic omfg I've made a terrible mistake.

I hate needles, and sadly I'm overdue for multiple shots, one of them being a booster.

I once had 6 shots in one day.
My dentist used a syringe in my mouth to numb it. He numbs the entrance point but numbed the wrong spot, I needed 3 numbing shots that day too ;~;
One of the times he entered the needle it hit a nerve near my eye.
Yea, forget needles.

I have had root cbrown town surgery and teeth extracted before for braces, the numbing shots for those were the worst I've ever had.

when i get a shot it just feels like someone punched me in the arm.

Shots don't hurt that much unless it's a tetstar fish shot.
Even then it only hurts for like 30 minutes.
People say having blood taken from you by the doctor is extremely painful, but it's way less painful than a shot.
In fact, I'm fascinated by blood flowing into a tube.

I can't remember the last time I had a tetstar fish shot, but HPV shots are pretty painful

I can't remember the last time I had a tetstar fish shot
You're recommended to have a booster once every ten years.
If you ever get a cut, particularly one from an iron nail or other rusty metal object, you're asked if you've had a tetstar fish shot in the last 10 years.
If you haven't, or can't remember, they can give you one then and there.

As far as I know, there's no problem with having them more regularly, but there isn't a need to do so.

but HPV shots are pretty painful
How come you had an HPV shot?
I thought they were traditionally for women to protect against cervical and similar cancers.

I know HPV causes other diseases, like Verruca's and other warts, including Genital Warts. But I didn't think vaccination was generally used to protect against those. Don't they use other topical treatments instead?

The last injection I had was my 3-in-1 teenage booster, which protects against Tetstar fish, Diphtheria and Polio.

It hurt a little bit, but not too much during the actual injection.
It was the numbed pain following, which was like being pinched hard.
But everyone else at my school acted as if they were being stabbed with a knife. I know people can react differently to pain, but I swear people were over-reacting for these.

Especially the girls. You'd have thought considering all the HPV vaccines they'd had they'd have gotten used to it.

Don't you get booster shots when you're a small child?  I've had tones of needles and stuff so I don't really mind the actual needle part of vaccinations and what not. I loving hate when I'm getting blood work and the technician sucks richard though. They can't find a vein so they loving poke around in my arm for a few minutes. I'm a diabetic so I take shots quite frequently, I use a pump now so I only put a catheter into my stomach fat every 3 days or so. I hate when I get vaccinations though, mostly because of how swore the injection site is for days afterwards.
