anyone who thinks all addons should be open source is an idiot. i get a lot of things scripted or modeled for my servers and if i released it all not very many people would come. add-ons are like protection that people can't copy your idea. people can take your build but they can't take your addons unless you give them out. although i don't believe in secretly handing the addon down among a group or friends or anything, addons shouldn't be used to boost your ego, just to make a server better |

if someone makes a server using a really unique gamemode that they made, it makes sense to keep it to themselves, because if everyone had that gamemode the server wouldn't be unique anymore |
