i will be saving 600 dollars on a 75 inch tv. thats worth waiting in any line. no online deals come close.
and the major stores with lines every year. they come out and grant you tickets to the item you want from the adds, an hour before the store even opens. and go down the line in order of who was first.
so there is no use in rampaging in, as you already have claim on the item you want, and no one else can claim it.
plus its not all about shopping. its tradition.
we are on tv every year on early morning news being interviewed about how lame we are waiting in -10 degree weather for 40 hours.
we have our tent and a propane space heater outside it to chill at. got our bbq set up and music.
then usually the hot cocoa comes out of the store for everyone at about 10pm. and the local subway brings by stuffloads of sammiches.
