Should the corner jumping bug be fixed?
Demian:
I had no idea this was so controversial. Some heated discussion arose on the r1908 thread when Subpixel asked about it. (continues to page 20 and is still going)
Let's get the terminology clear: this is not a feature. This is a bug. But you need to remember that not all bugs are bad. Read this: http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/what-should-be-banned.html
For those that don't know what "corner jumping" is:
--- Quote from: Ipquarx on December 13, 2013, 08:12:13 PM ---Basically by repeatedly jumping up against ledges of bricks at different positions and angles sometimes you'll jump up one of them. It's easist to do against a corner, obviously.

So I present to you a simple question. Should this bug be fixed? (Again read the article I linked above, not all bugs should be fixed. Make your own decision.)
SWAT One:
I think it should be fixed just because it's annoying to have to test and fix all the corners in a map to make sure people don't exploit it for some kind of advantage.

I agree. Even though practically all builds can be made corner jump proof even without obstructing regular usage or making it look ugly it still takes a long time and it's a whole lot of unnecessary work.
Treynolds416:
Any and all good things that could come from this bug can be made a lot better with a climbing mod.
So yes, it should be fixed. However, the questions "can it be fixed" and "should we spend time fixing it" are entirely different, and I think that's where some of the controversy is coming from
Crispy_:
Yes. It should.
