Author Topic: The Vegetarian Thread -- Veges, Fruit, and non-deadly animal products ftw!  (Read 3647 times)

If you went vegetarian or forget forbid VEGAN for a moral reason rather than a health reason, they're still not gonna kill any less animals, that'll be more life and energy gone to waste.

Also, I like dairy and eggs too much to go vegan (and onision is a great example for why you shouldn't go vegan), but I could possibly live with being a vegetarian (mushrooms r gr8).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the intestinal tract of a human varies from about 4-6 times human body length, making us closer to carnivores.
Are you even aware of the principles of supply and demand?

Did you even read what  I posted? I did an entire response to everything that was written in that article.

I think I could be a vegetarian but it'd be very hard.

For some reasons I dont like many vegetables. Any suggestions on ways to prepare vegetables so they dont make me want to bleh everytime I eat them?

Vegetables often compliment a good meat.

Lots of cheese and seasoning

Well, that's not why he put them here, but he did say it was okay, as long as we drained a majority of the blood.

I think the reason he asked us to not eat blood was because it's unhealthy (if not dangerous in some cases, like raw meat).  He also said don't eat pigs, which we can obviously do now.  Back then, pigs were dangerous to eat because food preperation was not as advanced then, and there are these cyst things that sometimes naturally occur in pigs that can be lethal to humans if ingested.

Are you even aware of the principles of supply and demand?
It would take many thousands of people to affect demand (which would then affect supply) much, just getting a few friends to go veg/vegan would only result in a small amount of waste unless your friends caused a chain reaction of veg conversions (rarer than witnessing a cow walking off a cliff). I thought that would be implied in my original post, but I guess not.

Thinking the exact same thing man. Pretty sure God wouldn't want to let humans just screw themselves over when they're just getting started.

Also, I'm sure there's some sacredness involved, what with blood representing life and whatnot.

humans are omnivores

Real humans are carnivores.

Aliens are vegetarians.

Bears are omnivores.

Joking.

Uh
If everyone thought like that we would get nothing done
You do realize that 5% of the population of the US said they never eat meat
Thats 16 million people
If they all got one friend to go vegetarian that would be 32 million (duh math) and it would just go on and on
That's a lot of people
I really don't think your argument is valid at all.

"Here I'm going to malnourish myself"

-snip-
So I decided to do some research to check your claims, and as of a 2013 poll, around 13% of Americans are veg(6%)/vegan(7%).
Seems this country is more outspoken about food issues than I thought.

*Gatysh backs down from his first argument*
