I checked by myself, and yes all the space bots had a helmet everytime
so I don't know if OP is really sure that he saw one whitout helmet, but he's probably right.

By random, he means it picks from a selected set of space outfits.
This is just a rare chance.

OP may be fibbing, I just tested it and all space bots I got had a visor on.
The one in the OP doesn't.
If it IS real, it's just an extremely rare coincidence.
