Author Topic: I wish people would quit using autism as an insult or argument.  (Read 7090 times)

We live in an age where nothing is safe from being made fun of or shat on for laughs. The only thing we can do is try to ignore it all.
which is the adult way to handle situations

if the solution to things annoying you is to change the world and not yourself, you're going to have a bad time.

Didn't the autism thing start when people started diagnosing people with it when they didn't understand one of their jokes in an argument?
That's when I see it used.

That's not even a credible insult, so why get mad? Nobody who uses it is worth talking to anyways.

Calling someone autistic doesn't equate to calling them handicapped.

"2*2 is 6, not 4"
"No it's not, you autistic forget!"

That never happens.

I agree, this explains Pass very well. I think

stop being autistic

I don't get it how people get hurt by just words.
Sure people close to you have ''it'', but saying it out loud doesn't make it worse or mentally torment you right? Because that'd be pretty dumb.

this is like what a kindergarten teacher would say
NOW REMEMBER KIDS, WORDS CAN'T HURT ANYBODY EVER
of course they can. That's why the Drama section exists.

we're not all as sensitive as you are

I really dislike it when people say something is "cancer"
one bridge at a time

we're not all as sensitive as you are
I'm not overly-sensitive. I'm just sensible. A lot of you guys like to try and put on some tough-guy starfish look who doesn't ever laugh or be offended or have any emotions.

i guarantee all you've accomplished is that people will say it more around you now
