I have 2500 XP left to get to rank 2 and then i have to get all the way to rank 3 and it takes ages when i only get 50-100 xp a game...

you get slightly less xp per match with deathmatch but it feels like it goes a lot faster

Deathmatch is way more tolerable. If you don't have missions, Deathmatch is really the best choice. You actually improve in deathmatch, it's an amazing aim practice. If you nab a few friends and play deathmatch together it's just an enjoyable time. If you like Call of Duty, just pretend it's like that, but with different mechanics.
