Here's how I think it goes down:

A man was at home, collecting digging supplies, ready to go out to the forest. So he goes, and finds the remains of his parents after digging them up. He then captures the souls, and using his conversion machine to convert the souls into feul, to either:

A. power on the machine again.

B. convert into real energy to make his loved parents come back to life.
