I don't even loving understand. I've never heard him say anything or do anything that makes him seem like he thinks highly of himself. Sometimes he doesn't accept criticism, but that is not because he thinks he is better than others, he just thinks he should be able to do it his own way and if other people don't like it, they should make it their self. Also, just to point out, your sentence doesn't even make sense after "himself."
