Author Topic: Screen Recorders? (OP EDITED)  (Read 2885 times)

If you have Windows 8 don't bother with Fraps. It can't record your desktop because for some stupid reason it requires Aero to do so and Windows 8 doesn't have that.
The recorder I mentioned doesn't require Aeros, there is even an option to turn it off in the options.

a lot of people use DXTory

it's about $37 though (the price is listed as 3900JPY so it's subject to change in other regions)

I use MSI afterburner's screen recorder. It's free, and comes with a lot of other helpful stuff. Came with my GPU. http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm

EDIT: If you're confused about where the video capture function is, it's under the settings, under the video tab.

I can't make head nor tails of this post. It's one of those rare situations where a post is coherent but still makes no sense.

A torrent is a file used by software like uTorrent which is peer-2-peer file sharing by uploading and downloading straight from each user. It is completely legal to use a torrent file to distribute freeware or abandonware but it isn't legal to share paid software with it. But since we are talking about paid software recorders and Chekelo is referring to get it for 'free' illegally obviously he is talking about piracy.

Shadowplay -- includes recording from the previous 20 minutes, active recording, 1 button streaming to Twitch, and it's free.

It's on your screen now. :)

fraps is probably the best game recorder. although, it basically cuts your fps in half when you start recording
Wouldn't that make it... not the best game recorder? 'Cause there are apps that record well without a drastic FPS drop.

i think fraps works better on a wider range of hardware or something

Same program I use. Very good to have and does wonders for recording. Also less lag than fraps while filming in-game

OFT: How are you Kingdaro? Been a while :P
