Author Topic: Stupid school rule.  (Read 3751 times)

our school doesnt allow us to bring anything except our books. they're too scared we might have a loving gun in our jacket/backpack. if you bring your jacket and/or backpack in class you'll get a referral.
tell them that they are paranoid

in my day we had to carry all our books by hand. up hill both ways.
we were a poor family. couldn't even afford backpacks for every kid.
Tuesdays was my day to use the family backpack. however it wasn't my day to wear the family shoes.

I was beaten by father when I left a book in the backpack for little Jimmy's Wednesday use.
he had a bad back from all the coal mining. it was 1 book to many. he died that cold winter of July.

my school has a rule that we can't use our backpacks at all in school
we can bring them but as soon as we enter the school we have to put it in our locker

but for some reason nobody enforces it so everyone just uses their backpack

i kept my stuff in my locker throughout middle school
i carry all my stuff around in my backpack now

In my school you can't bring your backpack around, well with the exception of a few kids.

at my middle school we couldn't have backpacks, only binders. also they let us out of school at like 4:30
here at the high school they're kinda chill, just no food or headphones or earbuds or headgear

Why so many silly rules for backpacks? Are they that afraid you'll sneak a bomb or something in it?

I have 5 minutes to get my classes lol

A lot of kids could hide substances or illegal things in their bags.

That's not too bad
We have 8 but it's a pretty big campus, getting from the A building to the F building takes about 5 of those minutes.

OT: Jesus, how can schools be dumb enough to do this stuff?

Is it worth punishing 99% of kids for something 1% does?

I wouldn't say 1% of people would do it. A big proportion of teenagers would do it. Sometimes specific people ruin it for others.

I presume you're in America, right?
The school district thinks they own you, and they're pushing you around. And you're not gonna do a thing about it, nobody ever fights for themselves.

It's quite a shame that even in America, kids are treated more like Pets than people. They expect you to come when you're called, and when you do they think your parents have succeeded, but you could say that about anyone and they could turn out to be a serial killer.

Also they force you to do the pledge of allegiance, basically they're forcing you to be a patriot. That's how much power they think they have.
I do agree with this, but saying the pledge doesn't really mean anything. Hell, half my school hates america and saying the pledge is completely automatic; it's just random word noise, like learning a new, 30-word language.

gym is an optional class at my school

Same. Kind of. A PE credit is required to graduate high school, but there are other classes you can take that count as a PE credit.
