Author Topic: Item Hover / Rotation  (Read 5761 times)

Also, as several players who joined a server where I showed this off can tell you, the hover / rotate moment creates no noticeable lag, even when you have a few dozen of em.
With just the hover it lagged slightly for me when you had about 15 bows. You said you couldn't notice it, but I did...

@ Space:

Yeah, I've updated the scheduling since your visit.  I'd be happy to show you again.

@ TheGeek:

Even though I have the utmost confidence in Ephialtes' ability to product a quality RPG product, I know he intends not to release it.  That makes it nearly pointless.  I'll release mine soon and that way everyone can make use of it.  What the community release needs is an RPG Kit, with clean, functional, efficient, well-documented code that multiple persons can use to their liking.

produce*.  Damn elusive edit button.

Good point But I dont think one will come out for a bit.... :panda:

community needs*.  Badspot, come on, we need the ability to edit here.

I like the idea of a client-side-only RPG release like Ephi's because it encourages people to congregate on one server. RPGs become useless when you can make your own server anywhere. Too many RPGs just poisons the whole point, IMHO.

If its a well enough made kit it can allow for variety-- IE one persons having a futuristic RPG, someone else might be hosting a medieval one, and someone else is having wild west fights.

I just hate that 50% of the good mods these days are private.

Like Aloshi's RPG mod

Yes.  The kit would have no theme, just the basics for RPG play.

System for buying / selling goods, setting up player kill / non player kill zones, perhaps some sort of minigame package system like the one Space Guy is creating for Team Deathmatch.

There are lots of good possibilities for an RPG Kit, and the presence of such a kit would not prevent people from flocking to the good servers.

If anyone is wanting to continue this part of the discussion, let's make a Modification Discussion topic as this is slightly off from where this topic began.

But...that wasn't good.

Like I ask again, got a release date for this?

Yeah, shouldn't be too long of a wait.  I've got another improvement to make to the scheduling, but after that you should have your release.

Needs to only work when item is spawned in the UP position.
