I am suggesting Running shoes.

The running shoes would be a item that when worn, would increase the player's speed. It would also act as armor to reduce damage to the wearer.

That is close to what I want, but I want shoes instead of socks and instead of negating fall damage it acts as armor.

Instead of all out raising speed, why not have it only boost speed when you press a certai nbutton (Double W like in Minecraft or B like in Pokemon)?
