If there is anyone who knows how to do internet Sherlock Holmesing it would probably be useful to track his ip through his blid if that's possible.
Is he a BL player? I think you would need his BLID for that. I really don't know, though.

you could trace someone's IP.

*you could if you were badspot and you could see which IP last logged into the forum account. but, unfortunately that isn't solid.

*you could also see what IP goes back and forth from his RTB, but this would only work if he's on RTB AND you are able to send a message to him.

Yup, as you said. Even if you think you want to see his VPN, it would be a pretty major invasion of privacy to reveal that kind of information to pretty much anybody. Besides, it's against what the feature is for and by abusing this it would breach what we agree to.

Assuming RTB doesn't have some kind of central server, that could work. But again:

For a second there I thought you were Polygonal

I thought he was Poylgonal too xD

(Off Topic)
How do I get one of those awesome drawings of my BL Avatar? :o

-stuff-

this is true, RTB may not work and im not sure if badspot keeps logs of IPs on his forum account outside of the last logged in IP.
---

also, im not sure if getting his IP will help. finding it wont draw a line of evidence, because i dont think OP has access to a log of IPs that connect to his server, AKA the packets used in the attack. (unless he uses RTB, perhaps. i think that keeps a log of that kind of thing.)

Pretty sure it's DDoS his system, and maybe stop him. DDoS is just sending a crap ton of packets over to the port. (I think. :l)

I really wish people would stop calling every denial of service attack a DDoS.

A denial of service attack is a broad range of categories that encompasses every attack designed to degrade a service to the point where users can no longer use it (hence, "denial of service"). A DISTRIBUTED denial of service attack, however, is a far more specific category that refers only to attacks which originate from multiple different computers to bypass simply blocking the attacker's IP address.

this kid is telling the truth, poylgonal did the exact same thing to my server the other day. this kid needs to go.

I was tempted to call the police, even though that's perfectly irrational. He was putting my internet that I pay for in risk of being shut down, and pretty sure Denial of Service attack is illegal.

he is poylgonal
He is? He's going against Poylgonal and his name is Mr. Polygon. Not Poylgonal.
