ok i followed SCMowns2 instructions b4 and modloader worked perfectly fine. now i followed his instructions and when i set the latest version selection to Realease modloader (as he said) it closes as usual and then opens back up

d First of all, don't use modloader. Forge is much easier to install and even modloader mods work for it.
o Just download the installer and set the directory to your .minecraft folder.
