ceist,

people throw up and cut weight so they can get down to a lower weight class.

say i walk around normally at like 128lbs. I would cut those 8lbs (or 2 if i was a bitch) to get down to the lowest possible weight class i can get to, so that way I have the biggest advantage i get.
So people puke their guts out so they can wrestle smaller people?
Weak...

ive never seen puking to make weight

Temp dehydrating yourself is what I see most often. You can lose 20lbs by dehydrating yourself in a matter of days

Either way its pretty bad if you do something like that to lose weight just so you can wrestle smaller people.

One of my friends did wrestling in high school.
He wouldn't make himself throw up but he would starve and dehydrate himself so he could get into the weight bracket he wanted.

Overall, wrestling seems really rough.

except

imagine how many other people do that. just about everyone tries to go down weight classes.

Just because a lot of people do it doesn't make it any different. Its just a bunch of people afraid to wrestle their own weight class.

people do that anyway lol

the weight class you wrestle doesn't necessarily have to be what you weigh.

I don't get why you pointed out the word "afraid"

because they aren't afraid

They are just trying to give themselves an advantage

Literally like every wrestler cuts weight unless there's someone better than them already in that weight class

Like when I was a freshman I weighed 124 but couldn't wrestle 126 because there was already someone better than I was. This year I was cutting from 152ish to 145

That makes more sense. Although it raises a new question, why not just face your own weight class and get good at that, rather than another.

when you are constantly cutting that IS your weight class. Not your weight but its still your weight class

Hardest weight classes are usually from 120 - 152 well up here at least

Okay, but that doesn't answer my question on why they are doing it.

I already answered that. To give themselves an advantage. Look at MMA. Fighters will cut all the time so they can fight at a lower weight class. If you are able to do that, why wouldnt you? Why constantly run the risk of being an underweight guy? If I were to wrestle in the 152lbs, I'd be going up against guys weighing 160lb. I could just cut to 145lb and be wrestling guys who are my weight.

Yes, I seen that but if everyone does it than what advantage is there? Unless you happen to go up against someone who doesn't
