It was on sale at the time, was modular and I didn't have enough to go over even a little bit. It works wonderfully so it's not a big deal.

ohits just that i hate the 700-range: overkill for a single card but a bit too risky for sli
i've found that 630+ watt power supplies support two decent cards such as a R9 270 or 280 but i'm not sure about high end nvidia cards like a 780 ti. i think they will be fine since their predicted tdp is 250 watts.
