The pink one with the printer symbol under it?

try taking out one of the videocards and plugging both vga and avi into the remaining one, try with both cards. maybe one card is faulty or something

The other one is a 20 pin video out. I know my dad's got a few of those sitting in our storage space, check around your house to see if you can find one

The reason we're trying to get you to plug straight into the motherboard is to try to isolate the problem, whether it's a problem with the graphics cards not getting enough power or if the whole unit is faulty. (Incidentally, when you test the motherboard video outs you should completely remove the gpus from your motherboard)
turns out its not.

can't connect a monitor to it

Look what else i found!

might be the source of problems

I thought that might be it too, but I was told ( AND GUARANTEED! >:() That I wouldn't need 800W.

although i really doubt that its the problem. the cpu consumes up to 65w and you only have what, 2 cards? running? really doubt that you need anything more than 300w

last thing you can try is this
try taking out one of the videocards and plugging both vga and avi into the remaining one, try with both cards. maybe one card is faulty or something

Your computer doesn't check at startup if your psu has the right amount of voltage, it doesn't work that way. Even if your computer needed 800W to be able to run effectively, 600W would not cause this problem. It doesn't use all of the power on startup, the idle load is well under 100W. If your psu was the problem, you would hear the motherboard and fans turn on, then you would hear a pop and everything would turn off again.

My guess is that you did not connect the auxilary power cables correctly to your cards and they are refusing to show video. If you were able to have your monitor work straight from your mobo then this would assuredly be the problem. You should post a picture of the inside of your computer, and of the cards. I don't really know what else other than that would cause this exact problem for you otherwise.

Auxillary power cables to the cards..?

One of them needs to be connected with a pci express but the palit get's it's power from the motherboard

Let me just go ahead and get my camera.

Also thanks so much for the help guys, I have I have to be close to solving this.

First card, tried both video bays

2nd card, tried both bays

Graphic card bays

Ram and Mobo power bay

The CPU power cord
« Last Edit: February 08, 2014, 12:19:58 AM by orange wolf »

that cord in the last picture, the cpu one, doesn't look properly seated. maybe its just me
and 2nd to last, whats that empty 4 pin socket to the right of the 24 pin socket?

I've checked the CPU power cord, it's steated.

That 4-pin slot is the auxiliary power, whatever that means., but the PSU doesn't have a cord for it and I can't really reach 4-pin of the 20+4-pin connector over to it

whats that empty 4 pin socket to the right of the 24 pin socket?

Don't some motherboards have supplementary power ports on the motherboard to ensure the GPU's get enough power?

Don't some motherboards have supplementary PCI-E power ports on the motherboard to ensure the GPU's get enough power?
definitely not any modern ones

anyway, orange wolf, im out of suggestions. however, that system is somewhat old and might have just reached the end of its life. how about building a new computer?

definitely not any modern ones

Aside from the fact that one or two extreme-performance ASUS motherboards have them, either for the GPU or CPU, that doesn't look like a modern motherboard

I haven't seen any motherboards have a seperate cord for the graphics card lane power. im assuming only old motherboards have them

I guess I'll just wait for my taxes then.

I'm going to return the PSU tomorrow, but I'll keep the Hard drives, Disk Drives and Graphic cards.

I'm going to keep this trad open until tomorrow in case anyone has any groundbreaking ideas.

Edit:

And thanks a bunch Omicron Corp, Tokthree, Treynolds416, After I finish my new build I'll see if I can't get you guys something for the help.
