I find it really funny that Maxx said White Knighting, and everyone jumped on him, but Badspot said White Knighting and everyone was just like "oh stuff." And when did we get this double standard? People use dead people to play for sympathy all the time, and most of the time we ask for proof (like an obituary) so we don't get trolled. But because Maxx said that we should have proof everyone jumped on him and acted like we don't ever ask for proof, even though we as a community have backfired topics about death because there was no proof. GG
I will jump on anybody who sees a death topic and immediately demands proof in the manner that Maxx did. It is extremely disrespectful.
Sure their is a chance the member could be lying to get sympathy. But so what? Congrats, they got me to take 10 seconds out of my day to say "Sorry for your loss." They however made up a lie about the death of a loved one in order to gain sympathy off of people on the internet which equates to absolutely no gain in real life. Even if they lied to get that sympathy, their pathetic goal is far more of a loss in the end then I will ever feel making a four word post.
Then, what if that member is actually telling the truth in the end. What if someone they loved did just die. Instead of wishing them sympathy you just barged in demanding they go out and fetch you proof in their time of grieving. Asking them to take a picture of the corpse or grave? How disrespectful is that. What would a picture of the obituary even prove anyway? We don't know the deceased person's name. How can it prove anything? And then if it turns out to be real, what kind of starfish do you feel like?
So yeah. Continue to demand proof when people claim their relatives die. Good to know that you are so insecure that their is a possibility about some random person on the internet is getting a chuckle at your expense, that you are willing to put that person through ridiculous tasks in their time of need to please you.
