Author Topic: Arch Linux has bad kernel modules, how to fix them?  (Read 598 times)

I've reduced the problem of not being able to connect to the internet to a problem with modules broadcom and tg3.

How would I go about with compiling the Arch Linux kernel with working versions of these kernel extensions, or do I have to wait for the next kernel fix?

I could connect to the internet while booted on the Arch Linux installer.

I'm going to go ahead and tell you that you forgeted up somewhere. Arch Linux doesn't ship broken. If you've tried reinstalling, try it again.

What $trinick said. Use the Arch Wiki, very helpful. Try a fresh reinstall, it's your best bet. If want want to reduce the risk of problem, don't use the bleeding edge release; use the latest stable version.

You aren't supposed to eat the kernels

I completely followed the install guide and I did it correctly.

Never been a huge fan.
Needs a lot of butter to be good imo

I hate the butter flavored popcorn you get from a microwave bag with a passion. Real butter is so much better imo.
