Why did Kalphiter quit?

Kalphiter was an starfish who used to have a monopoly on dedicated server hosting. Then Pacnet and Hammereditor hosted a technically-illegal (by the terms of their internet provider) hosting service, then Lub and Ephialtes started RTB hosting, and Kalph lost enough customers that he went full-on ragequit (although Pacnet and Hammereditor's hosting service was reported and shut down, we think it was Lub who did that).
Kalph has a track record of being a massive self-obsessed jerkwad.

Personal issues aside I used his service for a while before I switched to a full on VPS and never had any problems with it.

Now that RTB is gone the hosting market seems to be open again.
