Has been suggested several times before. It always gets a large amount of support made evident by the second link but it's unlikely it's going to happen.

Ehh, the server threads help GD a lot, there usually isn't that much discussion in it.

I recall I created a Server Discussion Board on my forum a long time ago and the General Discussion board lost a lot of it's activity.

just because it's full of those threads doesn't mean it shouldn't be full of those threads
