Bisjac:

you guys do know the maps added all of about 10 min of playable content right?
i mean blockland as a building game and being moddable, is basically unchanged with or without them.

You're right, in the same way that maps provide content for games like COD, BF4, HL2, ect.

the need for maps on a fps are not even slightly comparable to blockland, a sandbox building game.

If you think any of those games, apart from the camera and movement system, are in any way related to Blockland then you are highly mistaken.

I guess I can contribute a story that I haven't really shared.

I don't know who the host was, but I had a CityRPG that I loved to play for a long time in 2008-09.  It had two completely separate towns with a highway in between them (highway took probably like 5 minutes to pass by car, so it was a long one).  I remember that I was a pickpocket and would go around bothering everyone trying to unload their stashes.  A couple things from that town:

1. The host was always driving around in a Harley running players over and driving between the two towns.

2. There was a teleport system to get in between the towns quickly.

3. There was this one cop who sold me a baton which pleased me to my greatest extent.

4. There was a guy named Damichael building a house, and I would keep ripping him off and taking his money.  He would scream and yell and hide in his house which encouraged me to stick around longer.

5. I rented out a hotel and the owner wouldn't let me build furniture.

6. Jail was utter torture.  One pickpocket crime was like 5 minutes in jail.
