Author Topic: A method to export key.dat files?  (Read 9964 times)

I'll work on an alternative solution for you, kniaz.

Thanks ><
One day I'd like to host a dedicated server in my name, haha

Did you manage to get your key?

No, not this time

I'm missing some sort of debugging .dll?

UNINSTALL not reinstall but UNINSTALL C++ and Framework. When fully uninstalled, Install again. From what im reading, it worked for someone

I have what should be a working python script that should do exactly what trinick's does, using exactly the same inputs

just in a different language with less dll problems

and
uh
it did work
but uh
now it isn't

i'm pretty sure i'm doing it wrong procedurally (as in, i'm a dumbass but the script works), but if you want to try your luck with it, message me on steam

So what would happen if you tried to do it with a steam one?

Nothing, steam keys don't exist in the same way normal keys do. You can't input a steam key.

I think the reason you're getting DLL errors is because I built the project in debug mode by accident. I updated the link, try download it again Kniaz.

No key.dat. It just doesn't exist.

If the key.dat was on the computer it was created on, could you not just reverse engineer it without a second key?

To answer this question, I could if I knew the algorithm that Badspot uses to generate the encryption key. I don't, and I don't have any interest in reverse engineering to figure it out. My goal isn't to help people hijack other peoples keys, this method is much more restrictive.

oh right, was thinking we knew how that worked
thought it was the mac address or something, but research suggests that's not accurate

Definitely not the mac address. It's got something to do with system hardware, I'm not entirely sure and again I'm not interested in finding out. I think that's a dangerous path to tread.

Okay, so I'm trying it again but the only output I'm receiving is the same key I put in?

It's in my Blockland directory, alongside key.day and keyLost.dat

Wait no i think it worked :O

Holy stuff! It worked!

I had to take it away from the Blockland directory, and do it in a separate folder, but it worked!

You're amazing, $trinick! Achieved the impossible :D
