My thumb is infected

This thing hurts like hell when I hit it against something by accident, or even touch it.
It swelled up to like 10% more of it's size, and last night I woke up because it hurt so loving much.
I put basatracin (however you spell it) and some hydrogen peroxide on it, and even soaked it in warm water with salt. It hurts less now, but it still hurts a lot :L
Anything else I can do?
I know BLF isn't a medical team, but, anyone?

there was this huge hangnail that hurt everytime i moved it
so i pulled it
and it bled
something must have seeped into it and gave me an infection

Anyway, Setro, this just happened to me. I infected my finger underneath the nail (wasn't a hangnail, just some cut that got overlooked). I just toughed through it though.
