Hey does gnome install any recommended programs? Because last time I installed a DE it gave me chromium as my default browser.

I just installed gnome and lubuntu because I thought that looked interesting as well. I like how lubuntu gives me the ability to customize just about EVERYTHING and I like gnome because it gives me more control when I am using it for important things.

BTW bonus question: What DE does steamOS use?

You can try out XFCE4. Or if you're into WMs only i3 or Openbox
