LOL at this petition though. It doesn't matter how many people sign this stuff. What actually matters is if you let your local representative and your states senator know you won't vote for them. Not just an email either. Write them a letter and call there phones, have everyone you know do it to. These stupid loving petitions don't do anything.

I doubt the facade will last long if they completely ignore the people this time.

What facade? This type of activism is a loving joke. I would be happy if people of this generation stopped thinking signing a web petition and making a post on facebook made a difference. You actually have to do something if you want to make a difference.

Second American Civil War, anyone?

LOL this made me laugh even harder than thinking the petition mattered.

Second American Civil War, anyone?

kek

You wish.

(and so do our forefathers, but hey.)

Second American Civil War, anyone?
no
that'd be bad

I mean I might just move to Canada or something because at least there you're not getting breathed down your neck

These things happen every three months. Remember the last one that "passed"?

Second American Civil War, anyone?

thats what is supposed to happen whenever government gets to big.
americans still have it to easy and comfortable though. they will wake up sooner or later.

i think most americans have quite a few misconceptions about how their government actually works

HOLY stuff MY SIDES. You sound like an angsty teen using the word sheeple. For christ's sake america sure is a bunch of sheeple for not wanting a civil war.

the issue was the way that SOPA looked to deal with piracy. it was a sweeping piece of legislation that would hold the websites responsible for any small "offense" of piracy that takes place on it. rather than punishing those that actually pirate things, it would punish websites for having anything that might be considered a means for piracy. this would include p much any social media site, youtube, any file sharing website, etc.
1) I was kind of joking.
2) Have you ever read the law? http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c112:1:./temp/~c112E4BOGY:e1014: It basically says, "if you link to piracy or have pirated crap on your site and we notice, we will give you 5 days to delete it." How is that "sweeping legislation?"

calm down your sides are showing

america sure is a bunch of sheeple for not wanting a civil war.

thats right.
they dont even know why the debt exists and why its all caused by illegal things the fed has done.
when it all blows up and everyone is broke, they will wake up and remove em.
