EARTHQUAKE SCIENCE CLASS PROJECT IN BLOCKLAND [it didnt happen :(]
Arekan:
And not the normal type of project you're probably guessing.
Right now, in eight grade, my teacher is going on with a unit over Earth's plates, and right now, earthquakes.
So I thought, what if I made some sort of earthquake thing in Blockland?
I asked my teacher and she said she'd show it to the class. I wen't further and asked, what if she had played it in front of the class, if I made it that way. She said sure.
Then she said that we were going in the school's computer lab on Tuesday. Then, I asked, what if I made a game, that we can all play, on the same server, and use teamwork to 'escape' such an earthquake by answering corresponding questions to the curriculum. And hell, she said yes.
...How do I go about doing this?!

So today, I was going to test Blockland on the computers, but I did not have the necessary launch files to do so. However, I had the Next Car Game's files on the USB from a sleepover I did a few days ago. I loaded that up on the computer, played on lowest graphics. And guess what, it worked. Laggy, but it worked. And to make matters better than game takes a hell of a computer to run the game, go look at gameplay or something.
This means that the school computers, especially in the computer lab we're using, as loving stuffty as they are, WILL run Blockland atleast on no shaders at all.
Another note is that this will be on tomorrow at school! I'll bring fraps and I'll take some pictures, and I'll be making a video later on so me, and the teacher and maybe even the students can look back at this fabulous moment. So far, I've only got a few segments of the build to finish, all of which are very quick to complete. I will definitely look into running a server of such a genre, but with less questions and more explosions, publicly afterwards within a week.

You only need 1 registered copy to host a LAN server that everyone can play on.
I suggest making a build, test it thoroughly online (and in school to make sure no filters block) then in class go install blockland on all the computers before hand then instruct everyone on how to join and play the game.
game-play-wise you should use teams/events so people can compete against eachother, it will make it more exciting.

You dug your own grave on this one.
Arekan:
Lol. All I really need to know is how to get BL playable on all computers in the lab room, where they can't go on the other Blockland servers and totally ruin everything. After that, I'm all set.
Also, this isn't required. This won't be graded.
