I have a different philosophy on software than Lugnut. Unless there is reason to suspect it being malicious, I trust it. I don't have any antivirus and I've never had my identity stolen or my bank account emptied or even any of my accounts hacked, so that seems to be working pretty well for me.

Also, you guys need to calm down about "ID Discrimination." First off, what Lugnut was doing would be considered ID profiling, not ID discrimination. Discrimination is preventing someone from doing something because of their ID, for example banning people for joining your server with a high ID. And even then, he wasn't really profiling based on ID, he was profiling based on how long he's been here. ID has a direct correlation with time spent on the game, and that's an objective fact. It's unlike racism where you can't find much correlation to anything that's caused by their skin color, aside from the amount of pigment in their skin. You guys are just going social justice flower world on Lugnut.

Lastly, I believe in closed source software. Not everyone is entitled to see the content of all of your work. Failing to release source code does not imply a virus, he simply wants proprietary ownership of the software without giving others the ability to edit and pilfer his personal work. I rarely release source code with anything I write because it's my code, it's not designed or intended to be shared with others. If you don't trust his software, just don't use it. It's not your job to cast doubt upon someone for the theoretical safety of others. I don't walk around restaurants telling people the food they're eating may not have been handled properly and may infect them with food poisoning, and I don't bounce around forums telling people the software they're downloading might be a virus.

Is this app what some hosts use to access a server without actually opening Blockland?  Technically, they are not inside the server, yet they can still access the chat and even add input?

Might be thinking of something else though.

It's mainly a habit of mine.
As I stated in my first post, this is something I had made for myself, it was not originally intended for release.
I may or may not release it, it depends on the feedback.
If I feel it is useful I would clean up the code to a readable state and maybe make it publicly available.

Yes, I am. It's a question of integrity. Decompiling code that is not yours is just stealing.

I do not necessarily feel like having a bunch of consoles popup being called "their work"
While I may choose to release the  source, until I do, I would appreciate the choice  to be mine.

Yes that is exactly what it is.
