Blockland Jeep print in progress

you should totally do Gurren Lagann

Latest Print

Windshield turned out droopy as expected. There was nothing holding the thing up anyway. The rest of the build turned out super smooth and seamless. The lines are more apparent because the Filament spool my printer came with was clear transparent red. I was hoping to get white or black. A little acetone smoothing should fix this model right up. Its ALMOST minifigure friendly.

that looks REALLY COOL

also a tip: in the CAD class at my school they usually make supports that can easily be cut off

Can that printer print at a higher resolution?

Can that printer print at a higher resolution?
Yes

Its printing at a pretty high one already. The reason it doesn't seem this way is because the material is a Red Transparent filament. Also Acetone smoothing can improve the look greatly. You'd have to hold this thing in your hand to realize its not rigid at all.

The printer already prints in supports but this time around i didn't select the exterior support option.

Print all 9 of the TF2 classes.
I will love you.

Yeah let's just set the resolution to nine quadrillion and I'm sure Taya'll get right on that.

On a more relevant note though-

PRINT SOME WEAPONS FOR ME.

It wouldn't be that hard at all. But it'd be a waste of filament

How much did the printer cost?

800 usd
how much does 1 qubic inch of printing material cost?

how much does 1 qubic inch of printing material cost?
That varys from material type to print size. If i do a large print like a helmet, that can be as much as 50 dollars worth of printing material. It also depends on infill. if i'm doing 100% infill it can be very expensive.

On average, when printing say a 2x2 lego you're spending out 19 cents of printing material from a 1lbs spool

If you're going to do 3d printing, do what treynolds said and avoid FDM printers. They're mostly hype and expensive to maintain.
