How much plastic did it take and how long?

printing with Replicator defaults at 10% infill

took two hours without accelerated steppers, regular time would have been half an hour at accelerated speeds

yo you have a makerbot now?

when the engineering lab at my school switched from a solidoodle to a makerbot i was so amazed by how much lighter the prints were

I want to get a 3D printer when I get the lodsemone for it

I'd print scale replicas of myself

If I were to get a 3d printer, should I get a simple Printrbot?

Looks like you carved him out of a carrot

The printer i'm using is a Makerbot mimic, it was designed off the same design.

I can choose multiple defaults from any brand of printer. Replicator defaults are just something that many printers already use.

Todays print: Fennec Fox!
If you could make that smoother and add colors to it, I'd want to buy one

You would have to paint it or make different parts of different colors.

I only got 3 colors. Smoothing can be improved by increasing the infill on my printer.

Its still going to be pretty rigid because its layer by layer. The final product will always have leftover support on it. I usually just go over it with a dremel. Painting needs to be personally done.

you can't print multiple colors in one job unless you change the filament out in the middle of the print job

You can if you have a dual headed extruder. However that only ups it to 2 colors max. Even then its extremely difficult to merge a model. If I had a multicolored extruder it would be great. However they're very expensive.
