I've already made a somewhat functional game so changing the engine is out of the question unless you have someone else who would be willing to make the game.

There should be skins that you unlock that could possibly give you other abilities.
although you need to find them/complete a task to get them

if you need an engine does it need to be free? what ever you do Do NOT use scratch. I know a few 2d engines:

rpg maker. costs money though
love2d is free. Mari0 was made with love2d

I also want to see a secret level you unlock after completing everything.
after beating all the levels, you get a Cloudflare key and go to the "Forums Core" to put it in, only to get attacked by Man of Reason
after defeating MoR, you go and put in the cloudfare key into the core.
