Joining your own dedicated server

I need help to join my own dedicated server, I asked on some servers, and people told me not to use RTB with my server. I turned off RTB and still my server would not let me join, so they said instead of joining from the query internet, I should just type in my IP and join directly from there. That still did not work. Can you please help me join my own dedicated servers?

Try 127.0.0.1 for the IP.

I have this issue for LAN as well. It checks for LAN servers, and my dedicated LAN server isn't there. Not sure why.

Or just type localhost in the box that asks for IP.
