Author Topic: I found a phone AND an ipod  (Read 4547 times)

You should look the iPod into getting checked by an apple employee. I hear they can do password resets.
then they're gonna question why the ipod's language is in spanish and i'm english
ha just kidding, but nah, i'll just restore it with itunes

This, this is a good idea.
Thanks. I used to live near someone who worked for an apple store.

He found it in a "Electronic Recycling Bin" im pretty sure it's meant for electronics mate.
Oh, didn't hear that. Well even so, go ahead and unlock it. If the person took the time to find an electronic recycling bin they obviously didn't want it anymore.

I found out why they tossed the ipod.
The little chip thing in it's charging port is bent down and the pins are like bent off the chip.

So I found a cellphone in an electronic recycling bin.
It actually works and it even appears to have a working data connection.
But it's locked with a passcode.
It's an LG phone and it says Schneider Kreuznach on the front of it, near it's camera lenses.
How do I unlock it?
It has a photo of 2 girls as the wallpaper on the lock screen.
I also found an ipod that just keeps showing the apple logo and then appearing to lose battery power and have me recharge it again.
HOLY stuff THE IPOD ACTUALLY WORKS, but it has a passcode.

I wonder if you can get charged with identity theft for stealing private information from recycling bins.

google how to hax locked phones

well stuff, the chip in the charging port just fell off
well it's pretty useless now unless i do some wiring

Its not useless. Use it as a glorified mirror. Or remove the screen and other parts incase you need them later.

replace part

stealing people's personal information isn't identity theft...
but anyway, it might be illegal to take something from a recycling bin, in general. it just depends on local laws
there isn't anything illegal about specifically what setro did, though. if it's legal to take stuff from recycling bins where he did it, then he's a-ok

I'm pretty sure federal law dictates dumpster diving is legal.

So there's something wrong with the ipod, have you found anything wrong with the phone?
