| HammerHost dedicated hosting service: Transferring to new system |

| Hammereditor5:
I have some good news: HammerHost will be getting business internet, and will be home-hosted! This means we will be able to get a machine with much more power than the current VPS. Below is a comparison of the CPU power of different CPU's which were used for hosting services. The benchmark was created by taking the same Blockland folder full of files, and compressing it with 7-zip: As you can see here, HammerHost is on par with CBMhost. More importantly, however, the new computer system's CPU has 277% as much single-core power, and 433% as much multi-core poweras the old VPS. What this means is that the new system has more than 2.5 times as much single-core power as the old VPS, and more than 4 times as much overall power as the old VPS. The new system will use an AMD FX-6300 hexa-core CPU, overclocked to 4.2 GHz, or +20%. The computer will also have 12 GB of DDR3 RAM. The network's speeds will be 25 / 25 Mbps. Speedtest results will come later. The reason I chose to home-host the Blockland servers instead of using a remote, dedicated server in a datacenter is simple: Price. I can get as much CPU performance as a $125 server hosted by Server mania, by purchasing business-grade Internet for $80. The ISP is Verizon FiOS, which uses fiber-optic cables all the way up to the house, so pings will not be too much higher than a datacenter. In the FiOS business terms of service, they let you host as many servers as you want. The network is also very reliable; after 2 years of having this ISP, the Internet connection never experienced a single problem, other than power outages. Moreover, I can upgrade the computer at any time. I own the system, so getting more RAM is as easy as ordering it from Amazon with bitcoins. This means upgrade cost is extremely low, and I can increase HammerHost's Blockland capacity both quickly and cheaply. However, there is just one problem: I need to know if the hosting service should be free or premium. I am going to leave this decision up to the community. |

Have both but Premium has more features. Sounds good to me. |
| TheNoob:
Just do free, but premium needs money. and they want to steal your money Do anything, but do premium if you need extra thingies. |
| Aduioa:
I think it should be premium only. |
