Author Topic: Yay I got the honor roll  (Read 1564 times)

That's a little extreme for 25 bucks don't you think?
I'm not implying that OP is gonna be a yuppy, but what I'm saying is that paying kids to work hard is a bad idea.

i'm guaranteed to be making the dough with my skills!

McDonald's doesn't make dough.

depends on the school but at mine honor roll is having all grades above a B and high honor is all grades above a B+

Then I should be on high honor roll :/

90% is my lowest.

maybe, but all society is based upon paying people to work hard so

maybe it's less of money incentive and our incessant reminders to everony that they're perfect and all their ideas are beautiful and important is what's creating self important megalomaniacs

So, if I understand corectly, having your grades from 8pt+ will give you a ceremony? The only ceremonies made here are if you have straight 10pts, 95%+ in international exams and if you corrected a teacher at least 6 times. You get to hold the Argentine flag in the graduating ceremony. (Atleast in my school.)

There's a lot of bad ideas in the education system, rewarding kids for good grades isn't really one of them.

my parents don't pay me to get good grades, they just suggested the idea that i deserved something after i showed this to them

Dang, I'll bet that doesn't happen often?

I'm expected to do better than B.  I have an 88% in my art class a couple weeks back, my parents found out, and it turned into an hour long lecture, I had to email the teacher, and then I had to ask about what I can do better and get extra credit opportunities.  Honestly, I don't have very much homework though.

my school is so stuff that we don't even have an honor roll anymore. almost no one makes higher than a c+ here.

Wow, you finally stopped installing various distros of linux and started finishing your schoolwork.

I've only seen this happen once in my life.

uhh
High honors at my school is all 94%+
honors is like 89%+
I used to make honors, and I made high honors once, but jeez
B and up?

Is honor roll a whole year thing, or is it done per semester?

for my school it's per semester
