divided states of america (usa, duh) - ensure the longevity of your people by leading them to clean sources of water--even if it means killing other tribes

manifest destiny (american supercontinent, europe) - scramble for the new world as your favorite superpowers
no, I'm emperor! (holy roman empire, europe) - take the role as a territory of the hre who aspires of becoming emperor themselves one day--be it by diplomacy or war
victoria (entire world) - take up arms as any country you choose, however, they cannot be civilized (eg european powers). you must begin as an uncivilized asian/african nation (unless crimea is independent or you wanna be hawaii) and choose between westernizing and becoming a global superpower or banding together with your other uncivilized brutes and overthrowing those pretentious asshats to the left
a house divided (north america) -
one person will handle being leader of the confederacy/union and other players will join either side as generals to their nations. a specific manpower pool will be present as well as war exhaustion and maintenance. leaders will be ones to handle diplomacy with other nations, both foreign and domestic as well as warfare tactics. generals will follow their leader's plans with the utmost scrutiny in order to ensure that their nation comes out on top. generals can stage coups if they think their leader is an idiot eh doesn't seem very good
a well-oiled machine (entire world?) - instead of each player ruling a country, one player will be the overall leader of a country while other players will handle other governmental positions of said country (eg prime minister, war minister, secretary of defense, economics consultant, whatever). synergy will be crucial to survive in the era of napoleon
cold war part 2: electric boogaloo (entire world) - alternate history time! axis win ww2. allies die. death of Riddler causes fascism to devolve into a passive state, thus increasing tension with germany's less dependent ally, japan.
