it's an okay idea, but people eventually finish builds... if there is a finished build does that mean it will also get cleared in two days? seems pointless to build on the server in the first place, then.

No.
Some people have work and school, two days is completely fair time to not be able to get on for.
Plus what about once someone's build is done?
Just keep track of how long it's been since the person logged in, and manually clear it. That way you can consider things like progress and build quality.
