I don't really care about the programme.
I have better things to do than watch cartoons, but if other people don't then that's fine. I won't judge people for spending their time that way.
What I do dislike is the term "brony" and the fact that people identify as it.
You really don't get this with other fandoms (atleast as far as I have seen). I don't see "Spongebro's" going around, all sharing Spongebob avatars on websites and wearing Spongebob clothes and identifying their person in relation to watching Spongebob Squarepants.
But with Bronies you see that.
I've got plenty of things I can identify myself with. I'm Male, White, British, English, a Classicist, a Gamer, and so on. I don't mind if people think of me and then think "Oh, he's that person who likes Ancient History" or "He plays lots of games". I wouldn't want the characteristic I identify as though to be something so specific as "Game of Thrones fan" or "Pokemon fan".
I might be those things, but I'd rather people thought of me as something else first. I have more character than watching a single show. What does it say about your personality that your major defining feature is you spend a lot of time watching/studying a single television programme?
It's just so boring to hear that.
Even saying you're a "Furry" is more interesting. At least then you can claim to enjoy the art, or stories, or drawing, or dressing up as a myriad of things. You only have to look at the Furry topic here to see that the people in that topic often have differing views on what they like. They might all like Furry things, but they make a choice out of it. There's creativity and originality in there.
But Bronies just like brightly-coloured cartoon ponies. All of which were designed by someone else. They might have their own fan-ponies, but there all still ponies drawn in the same style as the show. It's the same as Sonic the Hedgehog fan creations. It's still usually a Hedgehog, based off of another Hedgehog from the series.
The Brony thing was annoying on these forums to begin with, when people got quite excited and into it and it was new, so they spread it around.
That same thing happens all the time. Just look at when Mura did her ARG and lots of people wanted to try one.
Or Night Fox's Prequel topic led to lots of people with Katia/Prequel avatars or Reaction Images.
Or all the avatars/.gifs and conversations about The Lego Movie or Frozen.
But they all quietened down.
That's the same with the Bronies here.
Sure, there are still those around who keep going on the topic, or have a pony avatar, but there's a lot less crossover into the rest of the forums. So, that's all fine.
The main thing that annoys me now is just the lack of creativity and how boring the whole thing is, and how people still push it along. I like when popular fandoms rise and fall and new ones come about. But the ponies cling on. And they're not interesting to anyone outside of the fandom. There's nothing unique about any of it, and it's died down to the point where there's no longer any shock value at it.
If you like the show, then fine. I like lots of shows.
But if you choose it as something to identify yourself by, then you're just not an interesting person.
And if you're still trying to rally it along today then you've definitely got nothing interesting going for you. Go find something new.
