trn shaders off completly. turn draw distance down on servers with a tonnnnnn of bricks spread out.

Having a lower-end system and/or stuff internet usually causes it. If it's not you, it's the host of said server that has stuffty internet

Try pressing '~' and then typing "deleteDatablocks();" without the quotes of course.  This will case useless/un-needed datablocks to be deleted greatly reducing latency.
